  • What are the qualifications I need to join?

    To be eligible to join, you should:

    • Be a parent or family member of a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student, or a graduate of FIU.
    • Demonstrate a passion for enhancing the student experience through philanthropic support and engagement.

    • Value the importance of accessible, publicly funded education and its role in driving opportunity and innovation.

    • Share a belief in FIU’s mission to serve as a catalyst for student achievement, research excellence, and community impact.

  • What is expected of members?

    Members will be expected to:

    • Serve as an ambassador for FIU, promoting its mission and values within your network.

    • Actively participate in FIU Parent and Family Council meetings and signature university events.

    • Support FIU’s students by contributing to and advocating for key university programs and initiatives.

  • What responsibilities will members have?

    Members will be responsible for:

    • An annual contribution of $2,500. We encourage considering a four-year pledge totaling $10,000, which allows members to support the university throughout their student’s time at FIU.

    • Attendance during at least one FIU Parent and Family Council meeting per year, held during the fall and spring semesters.

    • Help grow support for FIU by introducing potential donors and advocates to the university.

    • Participation in FIU Parent and Family Council activities and programs. Consider hosting or supporting local Panther Family gatherings.
