Professor John S. Tenenholtz has had an incredible life in his 64 years. His position as a visiting professor in the Mathematics and Statistics department at Florida International University’s College of Arts, Sciences & Education was part of a long chain of accomplishments, including a successful career of almost 40 years as an international tax attorney. While his time was cut short, his accomplishments were long. He passed away on September 2, 2023, but his legacy will live on through generous donations to the College of Arts, Sciences & Education. The wish is for a special fund to be established with gifts in Professor Tenenholtz’s honor to support what he held dearly in his heart, to help students learn and prosper.
Professor Tenenholtz has always been a person of exceptionally high intellect while uniquely being able to communicate with people from all different demographics and interests throughout his life. He respected education as a means to make a difference in the community. After retiring from the legal profession, he furthered his passion for learning by becoming a professor of mathematics and statistics at FIU.
His family hopes the donations in Professor Tenenholtz’s name will help keep his memory and passion alive by shining the light on education, especially on mathematics and statistics, which he loved so much, and hopefully, through his memory, it can help others achieve their dreams.
