One of the nation's biggest 24 hour giving events, Give Miami Day is an opportunity for you to give back to our FIU students, research, and programs. This year, YOU can make an impact on student success, research and faculty excellence, a growing and technologically advanced campus and student dreams as we continue our essential work to support our Panthers, despite the unforeseen circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, November 19, we invite you to explore FIU's different schools, colleges, or unit programs and make a donation toward any FIU program you'd like to support! Remember, you'll have 24 hours to make your mark on our FIU, beginning at 12 a.m. EST on November 19 and ending at 12 a.m. EST on November 20.
Additionally, throughout the day, The Miami Foundation and their partners will maximize the community's generosity by making prize and match gifts to FIU.
Give Day Challenges:
- 10:40 Match Minute– Gifts between $25 and $100 made during the minute of 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, will receive a 100% match until the minute is over or until the $15,000 match minute pool has been completely used. This minute is made possible by Berkowitz Pollack Brant Accountants and Advisors in recognition of tax form 1040 and the firm's notable work in public accounting.
- The Cafecito Prize – $1,000 to the organization that receives the most individual gifts during "cafecito hour," 2 p.m. - 3 p.m., the perfect prize for that after-lunch pick-me-up!
- The Javier A. Soto Friends in Far Away Places Prize – $1,000 to the organization that receives the greatest number of gifts outside of Florida by 11 p.m. on Give Miami Day, in honor of The Miami Foundation's former CEO's move from the 305 to the 303 to lead The Denver Foundation (location of the donor will be determined based on the billing address associated with the credit card used for the gift).

Also new this year, Power Hours will highlight issue area categories and help donors connect with organizations working on the issues they care about most. From 11 a.m. to noon, the focus will be on "Education & Youth." Gifts made during this hour will be eligible for additional bonus dollars. Click here to learn more.
