Once thought to be exclusively a disease of children, with improved care has resulted in increasing the median survival age of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients to 37.7 years. With over 20 years of research experience, Mathee team in FIU has been particularly committed to enhancing and extending the lives of individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) through research. With your help and support we hope to establish:
- Research Fellowships – medical and graduate students: We hope to establish both short-term (summer) or long-term fellowships to conduct CF research both in FIU and other labs in the nation. It will cover research, housing and travel expenses, if any
- Travel Grants: We hope to support students and faculty to attend CF conferences and other research labs using this grant. It will cover travel, registration and housing.
- Annual CF Lecture: To bring national and international researchers to FIU in order to establish a forum of cooperation and sharing of knowledge particularly with students. This will cover honorarium, travel, housing and all related event expenses.
