In 2021, the FIU Foundation established the Office of Inclusive Philanthropy (FOIP), bringing together fundraising professionals, alumni, and community and industry partners from diverse backgrounds to evaluate, inform, and implement philanthropic strategies and programs that will advance systemic change. FOIP began its work by recruiting experts from across the university to build on initiatives of FIU’s Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We gathered data, identified gaps at the university and college level, created asset maps, and developed strategies to advance inclusive philanthropy. With a team of fundraising professionals committed to leading FIU in this critical direction, FOIP is now positioned as the go-to resource for donors seeking to uplift populations and communities that have been ignored and overlooked.
